What is it to be Modern in the 21st Century? (Part 2 - Post Script)

Since the subject of design has a lot to do with the context in which it is approached, I thought I should mention that the context here is primarily my self and my curiosity, which is to help develop my own belief and channel my intentions towards what I create as a practising graphic designer. Since I live and work in India, the question about the future of modernism in the 21st century almost directly could well be interpret into questioning the future of Modernism within the Indian context itself. However, I will not be steering towards the national or even international, but staying within the shifting limits of what what I find, what I understand, and what I make of it.
