What is it to be Modern in the 21st Century? (Part 1)

Here are a few 'statements' that were the reasons I ask that question:

1. Modernism has made a comeback in this 21st century.

2. Modernism has always existed and was never dead, there essentially isnt any 'comeback' per say, it has only taken newer forms.

3. Modernism is over. Post-Modernism is dead.Neo-Modernism is the new thought.

Before this question is answered or 'further explored', I must admit my naive and credulous understanding of Modernism as a movement that has been only through shuffling pages of a few books and some reading on the internet. Neither have I (or India, the country that I was born in) has been a significant part of the Modern Movement. I havent study art and its movements either.
